Small Hammer Project
Project Guidelines
The class was tasked with designing and manufacturing a small hammer.
The Hammer needed to be:
Original design
Less than 8 inches long
Have a decorative feature
Head to handle attachment style chosen by student from a supplied list
Manufactured on the manual lathe with the option of using other equipment
Design
All of the design work for this project was done in Autodesk Inventor.
The project started with multiple drawings of ideas and sizes. As I aimed to push my capabilities beyond what I was comfortable with, I kept adding complexity to the part. The final product incorporates multiple decorative features, tight tolerances/fit between the handle and the head, and additional assemblies that were not part of the requirement.
